Native Voices: Karenna — Lay Our Vibration Down
About
The New York stage premieres of two short operas by composer Dawn Avery. Trials and Tears, made with Ty Defoe, responds to Benny Andrews's painting Trail of Tears, and Sacajawea: Women of Many Names tells her story from a Shoshone point of view. It's part of the Gardiner Foundation Great Hall Forum, with Jarrod Lee, Bo Shimmin and Kate Morton among the performers and Danielle Olana Jagelski as music director. Thursday, November 5, 7–8:30 pm in the Great Hall, 7 E 7th St (Astor Pl 6). It's free with Eventbrite registration, first come, first served. It's one of four free Great Hall evenings on our calendar this fall.
