Aaron Gilbert: Alex Katz Chair in Painting Artist Talk
About
Painter Aaron Gilbert, Cooper Union's fall 2026 Alex Katz Chair in Painting, talks about his work. He paints close, everyday scenes set against the pressure of institutions and late capitalism, and names Courbet, Dix and Tooker among his reference points. Tuesday, October 27, 6–7:30 pm in the Rose Auditorium at 41 Cooper Square, near Astor Pl (6). It's free; register on Eventbrite. The architecture-publishing roundtable in the Foundation Building across the street starts at 6:30 the same night and is also on our calendar.
