Bird Friendly Garden Management Workshop

About

Join us for a special Halloween edition of our Central Park Ramble Bird Habitat Workshop on Saturday, October 31. Community gardeners are welcome to explore the Ramble as an outdoor classroom and learn practical ways to help birds with water, food, shelter, and safety. We’ll watch birds together, look at the plants and habitats they use, and talk about simple steps you can take back to your community gardens, like planting native species, making safe water sources, leaving seed heads, protecting nesting areas, and creating special habitat corners. To celebrate Halloween, feel free to come in costume. This event is a fun, seasonal, and family-friendly way to connect birdwatching, urban ecology, and caring for community gardens.Register HereNYC Parks GreenThumb hosts this event. We are proud to be the nation’s most extensive urban community gardening program, sustaining over 550 gardens throughout New York City. With GreenThumb’s support, community gardens are centers of environmental justice, ensuring that our city is fairer, safer, and greener for all. GreenThumb’s events are free and open to the public.
